For the past 14 years, Julie Reynolds has worked independently, specializing in helping clients translate complex and technical concepts for lay audiences. She has used this experience to support client work on varied projects for regional, national and federal organizations as well as for-profit businesses. With more than 30 years of experience in creative and strategic communications and corporate relations and management, her skills include: research, writing, copyediting, editing for adult-literacy, media relations, Web and social media content, video scriptwriting and production support, and the preparation of grant proposals for public and private sector funding.
Prior to her current role, Julie was Assistant Vice President, Corporate Communications at the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). In this capacity, she developed and directed NFPA’s communications outreach to promote and illuminate mission-driven activities ranging from fire data and research to safety code and standard requirements to public education. Julie served in NFPA’s corporate communications for 15 years. Previously, she was Manager of Public Affairs at the American Automobile Association’s (AAA) Massachusetts and New Hampshire club, a not-for-profit entity. She managed media relations and developed communications content to support key club priorities, including the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety educational outreach and safe-driving lobbying activities. Julie began her communications career at Howard Johnson Franchise Systems, Inc., with writing and copyediting.
